Comparative Diplomatics – “Producing ‘Histories from Below’ Using Municipal Documents in Late Medieval Iberia”

Meeting once a month, the Comparative Diplomatics workshop provides an informal setting for the close reading of documentary sources. Presenters circulate transcriptions, translations, and, where available, images in advance. Each session begins with a brief introduction to the sources and their historical context, followed by an open discussion that encourages questions, comparison, and collective exploration.
