Ethan Glattfelder, Department of French and Italian. His senior thesis focused on monsters in medieval French poetry and will explore the function of the monster in medieval politics, literary culture, and the construction of human identity. During his junior year, Ethan completed two junior papers on Jewish participation in the French Enlightenment and on the ecology of sexual violence in medieval romance. His other interests include Latin and Greek literature, animal studies, and Holocaust Studies. In his free time, Ethan plays baroque and modern viola, cooks (especially pasta), listens to music (especially the blues), and plays video games.
