The Humanities Council’s Program in Medieval Studies celebrates graduating seniors. Twelve students in the Class of 2025 earned the first-ever minor in medieval studies. Congratulations to all our students and thank you to our faculty!

History major Matias Vincent ’25 was awarded the Joseph R. Strayer Prize in Medieval Studies, for his senior thesis titled “Administering the Birth of a Nation: The Reconquista process and military pressures in the construction of a Portuguese political identity.” The thesis was advised by Helmut Reimitz (History). The prize, administered by the Department of History, is given annually to a graduating senior who has done outstanding work in the field of medieval studies.
